“Empress” flees onto the big screen

After selling out their first issue in April, it seems that Empress will be making her way to the big screen. Speaking exclusively to The Hollywood Reporter, Mark Miller has partnered with producers Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum. According to the report, the screenwriter F. Scott Frazier, who has penned the xXx sequel The Return of Xander Cage will take on writing duties (it’s already listed on his imdb page).

Empress tells the story of the wife of an evil intergalactic dictator who decides that she’s had enough. She takes the kids and her body guard and with I will Survive playing at full volume leaves, (okay I made the Gloria Gaynor bit up). After she flees her home world, she knows that she’ll be pursued by her husband.

Mark Miller has cited his influences from Star Wars on IGN. I’d recommend taking a look at this insightful interview.

Well post a review of the first 2 issues later this week!
